What we make

One-of-one apparel for barbell athletes. Every piece carries a true-to-scale barbell loaded to the exact weight you lifted, plus an embroidered serial number in the format weight‑sequence: 184‑001, 184‑002, 184‑003, etc. When your piece is made, that serial is retired. No one else ever gets it.

Who it's for

Right now, two rooms: Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting. The snatch and the clean & jerk. The squat, the bench, the deadlift. People who already know what a good lift looks like, and don't need it explained. If you know, you know, and the piece is built so that only the people who know will read it.

Why verification

Because the number has to mean something. Anyone can buy a hoodie with a big weight printed on it. Nobody can buy a serialized record of a lift they didn't make. We review every submission by hand against a fixed standard before a single piece is produced. The barrier is the point.

The philosophy

Recognition should be earned, and worn without needing to explain itself. The seal on the back isn't a billboard, it's a competition plate, and it carries the only line that counts: Worn by those who've done it. The bar on your chest is loaded to exactly what you moved. The serial on your cuff is yours alone. This is apparel made for you and your achievements alone.

Accepted lifts

We verify five movements across the two disciplines we serve. Olympic weightlifting: the snatch and the clean & jerk. Powerlifting: the back squat, the bench press, and the deadlift.

What the video must show

• The complete lift, uncut, from setup to a controlled finish, no edits, splices, or speed changes.
• The loaded plates in frame and clearly identifiable, so the weight can be confirmed by sight.
• A clear angle on the athlete and the bar path. Front or three-quarter is ideal; obstructed views may be declined.
• The full range of motion for the movement, from start to finish.

What counts as a good lift

We hold to platform-standard criteria. A lift is verified when it would earn a good lift under recognized competition rules for that movement: legal depth and lockout, controlled receipt, no press-out, no hitching, no downward motion out of the bottom. When in doubt, film it like you're being judged, because you are.

What we won't verify

• Missed reps, dumped bars before a controlled finish, or lifts with obvious spotter assistance.
• Footage where the weight can't be confirmed from the plates on the bar.
• Edited, borrowed, or misattributed video. The lift has to be yours.

Review & timing

Every submission is reviewed by a real person, not an AI or script. You'll receive an emailed result within 48 hours. Approvals include a private purchase link; declines include the reason and an open invitation to resubmit.

One serial, one owner

Each weight-and-lift pairing carries a single serial sequence. The first athlete to verify a given weight claims weight‑001; the number is reserved on approval and retired when the piece is made. Records stand permanently in the registry.

The Plate Collective LLC ("we," "us") operates theplatecollective.com. This policy explains what we collect and why. By using the site or submitting a lift, you agree to what's described here.

What we collect

• Submission details, your name, Instagram handle, email, location, lift type and weight, and the video link you provide for verification.
• Order details, shipping address and the information needed to fulfill a purchase. Payments are processed by our commerce and payment providers; we don't store full card numbers.
• Site usage, basic analytics such as pages viewed and device type, used to improve the site.

How we use it

• To review your lift, reply with a result, and issue your verification code and purchase link.
• To produce, serialize, and ship your one-of-one piece.
• To maintain the public registry of verified lifts.

The public registry

Verified lifts may be listed publicly with your serial, weight, lift, first name or handle, and general location (city/state). If you'd prefer your entry appear anonymized, tell us at submission (email info@theplatecollective.com) and we'll honor it. Submitted video is used for verification and is not published without your permission.

Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, commerce, payment, email, fulfillment, and analytics, and only as needed to do their job.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or remove your public registry entry, by emailing us. Note that a produced serial remains part of the permanent record even if personal details are removed.

Because each piece is produced individually after your lift is verified, loaded to your exact weight and serialized to you, it can't be resold to anyone else. That shapes how we handle exchanges.

Made to order

Nothing is pre-made. Once you place your order, we produce your specific piece. For that reason, orders can't be canceled or refunded once production begins.

Sizing exchanges

We want the fit to be right. If your piece doesn't fit, you may exchange it for a different size within 14 days of delivery, provided it's unworn, unwashed, and in original condition. The serial, weight, and graphic stay the same, only the size changes. One size exchange per piece; the athlete covers return shipping.

Defects & errors

If a piece arrives flawed, or the serial, weight, or graphic doesn't match your verified lift, that's on us. Email a photo within 14 days and we'll remake or replace it at no cost, including shipping both ways.

What we can't accept

• Returns for refund on made-to-order pieces.
• Exchanges on worn, washed, or altered garments (outside of a confirmed defect).
• Changes to the recorded weight or serial after production, the record reflects the verified lift.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of theplatecollective.com and your relationship with The Plate Collective LLC ("The Plate Collective," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing our website, submitting a lift for verification, or purchasing from our store, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use our website or services.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use our website, submit a lift, or make a purchase. By using our services you represent that you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for any reason.

The verification process

Submissions. To be eligible to purchase from The Plate Collective, you must submit a video of a qualifying barbell lift, squat, deadlift, bench press, snatch, or clean and jerk, through our official submission form at theplatecollective.com/submit-a-lift. Submissions must meet the requirements outlined in our Verification Standards, available at theplatecollective.com/verification-standards.

Approval and rejection. All submission decisions are made at the sole and absolute discretion of The Plate Collective. We reserve the right to approve or reject any submission for any reason, including but not limited to technical violations, video quality, incomplete footage, or failure to meet our verification standards. Verification decisions are final and non-appealable.

Fraudulent submissions. By submitting a lift for verification, you represent that the video is an authentic, unedited recording of a lift performed by you personally, without assistance, and in compliance with our Verification Standards. Submitting a fraudulent, altered, or misrepresented video is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate disqualification, cancellation of any associated purchase, and prohibition from future submissions.

Resubmission. Athletes whose submissions are rejected may resubmit after addressing the reason for rejection. Resubmission does not guarantee approval.

Purchase links and discount codes

Upon approval of a verified lift, you will receive a unique, single-use discount code and a purchase link via email. The following terms apply to all purchase links and discount codes:

• Codes are issued exclusively to the verified athlete and are non-transferable.
• Codes may not be shared, resold, or distributed to any third party.
• Each code is valid for one single purchase only.
• Codes expire 7 days from the date of issue, and expired codes cannot be reactivated.
• The Plate Collective reserves the right to cancel or void a code if we determine it has been misused, transferred, or obtained fraudulently.
• Codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for currency.

Serial numbers

Each verified lift is assigned a unique serial number at the time of approval. The following terms apply to all serial numbers:

• Serial numbers are permanently tied to the verified athlete and the verified lift for which they were issued.
• Serial numbers are non-transferable and cannot be reassigned to a different athlete or a different lift under any circumstances.
• Your serial number, lift type, weight, and approximate city location may be displayed publicly on our Verified Lifts map at theplatecollective.com.
• In the event of a sizing exchange or defect replacement, the serial number transfers to the replacement piece and the verified lift record remains intact.
• The Plate Collective maintains sole authority over the serial number registry and all records therein.

Products and pricing

One-of-one nature. Every piece produced by The Plate Collective is made to order and is one-of-one. The barbell graphic on each piece reflects the exact lift type and weight of the verified athlete to whom it was issued. No two pieces are identical.

Pricing. All prices are listed in US dollars and are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors at any time. If a pricing error is identified after your order is placed, we will contact you before processing.

Product availability. Because each piece is made to order, availability is not limited by inventory. However, we reserve the right to discontinue any product or colorway at any time.

Orders and payment

By placing an order you represent that all information provided is accurate and complete. Payment is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment card information. Orders are not confirmed until payment is successfully processed.

We reserve the right to cancel any order at our discretion, including orders placed using fraudulently obtained discount codes or orders that appear to violate these Terms. In the event of cancellation, any payment collected will be refunded.

Shipping and fulfillment

Orders are produced and fulfilled after payment is confirmed. Production and shipping timelines will be communicated at the time of purchase. The Plate Collective is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs processing, or circumstances outside our control. Risk of loss passes to you upon delivery to the shipping carrier.

Exchanges

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds. Exchanges are available only in the circumstances outlined in our Exchange Policy at theplatecollective.com/exchange-policy. By purchasing from The Plate Collective you acknowledge and agree to our Exchange Policy in full.

User-generated content

By submitting a video and consenting to social sharing at the time of submission, you grant The Plate Collective a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and share your submitted content, including your lift video, lift details, and serial number, on our website, social media channels, and marketing materials. You represent that you own or have the right to grant this license and that your content does not infringe on any third party's rights.

You may withdraw consent for future use of your content at any time by contacting us at info@theplatecollective.com. Withdrawal of consent does not affect any use that occurred prior to your request.

Intellectual property

All content on theplatecollective.com, including but not limited to the The Plate Collective name and logo, barbell graphic artwork, website design, copy, and photography, is the intellectual property of The Plate Collective LLC and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and trade dress laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any of our intellectual property without our prior written consent.

Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• Use our website or services for any unlawful purpose.
• Submit fraudulent, altered, or misrepresented lift videos.
• Attempt to obtain, share, or use discount codes you are not entitled to.
• Reproduce or distribute our intellectual property without permission.
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from our website.
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our website or systems.
• Impersonate The Plate Collective or any of its representatives.

Violation of any of the above may result in immediate termination of your access to our services and legal action where appropriate.

Disclaimer of warranties

Our website and services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that our website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no warranty regarding the accuracy or completeness of any content on our website.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Plate Collective LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our website or services, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or personal injury. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product or service giving rise to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Plate Collective LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of your use of our services, your violation of these Terms, or your submission of fraudulent or infringing content.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of our services shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our website after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
